Antique Westgate Automatic Electric Cooking Cabinet - 1920s Ansonia Clock This is a great looking piece of early American Electric Appliance. This Automatic Electric Cooking Cabinet dates to the 1920s & is in great vintage condition. The top of the cabinet is cast aluminum with a fleur de lis design in each corner. in the center is a round handled lid that when lifted reveals a deep well where the cooking would take place (I believe some type of pot would go inside, but is missing). The front of the cabinet features a simple turn switch for on/off, & a wonderful looking Ansonia clock that worked as an automatic timer for cooking. The clock swings out to reveal printed instructions on how to use the timer, & also reveals the pilot light. Below the clock is a metal shield identifying the make & model (see pic 4). The bottom half of the cabinet has a door that swings down & reveals a large open storage or warming area. On the door is a "Westgate Cooking Cabinet" logo. The cabinet rolls on very unique roller ball wheels. This is a very rare piece that is in extremely good vintage condition. There are some minor scratches on the outside of the cabinet on the blue paint, & inside the bottom storage area there is a small bit of minor rusting. I was told that the unit works, but that the cord should be replaced (it still has its original cloth covered cord). I have no idea how to test it, so it is being sold AS-IS. I did test the clock, & it still works great & keeps good time. The cabinet measures approx. 30 inches tall, & the top is 18 inches x 18 inches.
