Leather edges are skived , polished & dyed for a more elegant luxury look. This process makes the collar soft around your dog's neck & because we want to avoid metal hardware from the rivets coming in contact with your dog's skin we have put them between the leather layers . Same thing applies for the stainless steel buckle , we have saddle stitched it so no metal is in contact with your dog's neck. These handmade leather dog collars also have soft padding which is made from Italian leather & foam & are suitable for big & strong dogs who tend to pull your arm out in the field . If your dog likes being very active in the mud or likes swimming or if the collar gets dirty with use all you have to do is to hand wash it with mild soap in cold water & let it air dry in room temperature.
