Handbuilt porcelain vessel depicting a Zebra & fox with figures in stripes, sculpted in relief. Brushed, air brushed, incised, slip decoration. Front piece is cut lower & design is continued on the inside of the back. High fire English porcelain, with slip under glazes & a clear glaze on top. Reverse side black with white incised line, same image. These pieces are animal portraits, designed to stand alone as home decoration or they can be used as a decorative vase. They hold water, & are best used with just a couple tall cut flowers so as to not hide the design, but accentuate the uniqueness. With flowers I use a little posting putty on the inside to stick them exactly where they look best! Putty also works great to secure these on to a surface, as I have at outdoor art fairs. Four small pieces both levels the piece & secures them to smooth surfaces without harming furnishings. They are narrow & this prevents wind, bumps, or pets from disturbing them. They look great placed in front of a wall mirror, the black reverse image showing in the reflection. Truly dramatic pieces for the collector or designer to make a space special!
