Pair 19th C French Embossed Leather Book, Timeworn Green Leather, Gilt Spine, Antique Stacking Books. ca. 1838 ja 4022004 Les Délassements de Ma Fille, classic French novel, ca. 1838. Books 1 & 2 Dated 1838, this set of 2 stacking books in an amazing timeworn & faded deep forest green embossed leather, with a gold gilt lettering on the spine with gold page edging. Beautiful embossed leather design detailing. Including some illustrations. Beautiful end pages. Measures; approx. 6.75" x 4.25", 1" thickness, each Leather covers overall in good condition with edge & corner wear, fading & edge/shelf wear. Pages in sepia from aging, which is typical of books this age. Bindings are still intact but very worn. . A handsome & attractive set for any book collection!! Thanks for viewing.
